Surabaya yaya (Day 5)
Final day in West Java. We woke up, not too early. But one of us went out walking the hotel area, alone. I was bored waiting others to wake up, it was waste of morning. But hey, it was raining heavily that morning though.
We had our breakfast at the hotel, just some bread with jams and hot tea. Good enough. We hired a different supir today, to drive us to the city for last minute souvenir and lunch. So we paid Rp375.000.
We went to the city mall, it's look like as big as Mid Valley or One Utama back in Malaysia. I didn't buy anything as the shops are common as in Malaysia. So we had quite expensive lunch at the top floor. It was nice.
After that we went to the Juanda International Airport. Checked in, and we bought souvenir at the airport instead since we couldn't find the proper souvenir shop in the city. To kill time and hunger we ate again, at Popeye's.
So that's it! My holiday at West Java, Indonesia. Would love to visit again at the other part of Indonesia.

Surabaya yaya (Day 4)
My day 4 in East Java Indonesia started at 6.00am. Heard something outside. Apparently they prepare breakfast at our front door. Ordered nasi goreng with hot tea for breakfast. Had shower, packed our stuff, checked out and heading for activity of the day, water rafting!
The nearest water rafting in the area was at Songa Bawah and Songa Atas. We chose Songa Atas which operated by Noars Rafting. There's also another water rafting operator nearby. From the hotel it took about 1 hour plus. The road to the place was very challenging, for Avanza to went through that journey it was amazing. We had a minor accident. The road can only fit one car so there was us in at one side and another car at one side of the road. The car bang ours, but to our amusement there was no argument whatsoever. We thought Pak Ako will be pissed off by that. But it was alright! That's how adventurous was.
We've made it to the water rafting hut after one hour journey from the hotel. We walked in and paid Rp235.000 for each person. There were not many people at the hut, just us and two more groups in front of us. We took our stuff - life jackets, helmets and paddles. We were taken to the starting point of the water rafting by riding at the back of the lorry together with our equipments, which took about 15 minutes or so.
Apparently there were other groups as well from other company, so it was a bit crowded. Our group was the last one to go. They will teach you how to water rafting before deploy into the river and not to worry if you forgot how to do, because each boat will have its own instructor, so it is fine.
The water rafting took about 2 hours. In between there will be rest area where they will serve hot milk and an Indonesian dishes which we thought in Malaysia they called as cekodok. I'm not gonna lie the dish was delish! There will be another break under the cave where they will photograph the visitors. Also, there will be another pit stop where you can jump off the cliff into the river! This part was exciting because I've never jump off the cliff before but with life jacket on me I feel much confident! Hehehehehe...
After the water rafting activity they will prepare lunch for you, Indonesian style. I don't mind these dishes, I love it. Before that you can take a shower which they prepare for visitors. All that included for Rp235.000.
It was hell of a fun!
After that our destination is Surabaya. Before we go, we paid another Rp2.400.000 to Pak Ako. We paid a bit by bit as insurance for us, making sure he stick with us in this journey all along.
Everyone was tired, fell asleep in the car until we almost reach Surabaya. We stopped by rest area for maghrib prayers and snack - A&W - heavy snack. Half an hour later we reached Surabaya and decided to stay at Hotel Swk95 for a night. The hotel was great. Double bed room for one night rate was around Rp280.000 per room.
Such an exhausting day, we went to bed early...

Surabaya yaya (Day 3)
Our day three started at 2 in the morning. We didn't take any shower, straight to pack a few stuff and in the jeep. There's already a lot of jeeps parking at the side of the road waiting for their passengers. The journey from our homestay to the Seruni viewing point took about 30 minutes. There's also people riding horses or donkeys to the viewing point.
We needed to hike up the hill for better view. There's series of staircases which took about 15-20 minutes. Highly recommend to bring torchlight here because the place is dark. You will reach the Seruni viewpoint once you see an arch and big shelter. There's also people selling hot instant noodles and hot drinks.
The sunrise at that time was around 6.00am. If the weather is good you will witness the orange coloured Bromo from there, but at that time the weather is a but cloudy and just a little bit orange. A lot of photographers were there with us waiting for the right moment but most of them were disappointed with the outcome. Took a lot of pictures there. A lot of people camwhoring non-stop. By 7.00am we descend down, met our jeep and off to Mount Bromo.
Our entrance was already have been paid earlier. We reached at the destination one hour later, because of bad traffic. At Bromo there is some market, toilets, temples and you can ride a horse to the mountain. But to hike up the volcano, there is a staircase. What I've done was using stairs to hike up the volcano, then descended by running down the hill. It was fun!
The driver gave us two hours to go around Bromo, and it was enough. By the time we went into the jeep it started to raining. Then we moved to Teletubbies hill, where it actually at that time not like in Teletubbies. Then onto whispering sand (Pasir Berbisik), again disappointed that can't hear the sand 'whispering'. But these two have great view to calm your mind. Just be there, concentrate and look at the view. Breathtaking.
By 11.00am we're backing at the homestay. We immediately took our hot shower and started to pack. In the afternoon the rain was pouring down. Our timing was right. We left the place at 12.30pm. Our next stop was three hour journey to the nearest city, Probolinggo.
As soon as we arrived Probolinggo, we searched for available hotel. The hotel was Ratna Hotel. Per person about Rp125.000 with breakfast at the door. The place is a bit dirty with the facilities was a bit let down.. For just one night we have to bare with it.
We went out to look for food. We wanted to try nasi padang, indonesian cuisine where they prepare a plate of rice and a lot of dishes ranging from fish to chicken. Total spent for 7 people was Rp230.000, a bit expensive. To compare what I've eaten in KL, Malaysia the price is around the same but the quality was not as the same in KL. A bit disappointment there. Maybe there is better restaurant nearby but we didn't know where.
Basically after that we went to the hotel and rest. Then we went out again to see some football at local warung but then it was reallyyyyy full, end up hangout at the KFC. Then we went back to hotel and Zzzzzzzzzzz...
